The story of the villa

A historic house by the manor house in Svätý Anton

Soví dom stands beside the English garden and forest park of the manor house in Svätý Anton. The 19th-century villa has been part of this place for generations. Today we are caring for its renewal and preparing it for many more years of life.

We are Zuzana and Juraj Sasko.

In the neighbourhood of a manor house with a rich history

The manor house in Svätý Anton was completed in 1750. Its history is linked to the noble Koháry and Coburg families, who shaped the appearance of the residence and its surroundings.

The manor estate includes a park and an extensive forest park. It is in this setting that Soví dom stands, whose history was also tied to the everyday administration of the manor.

The house where the estate steward lived

The villa originally served as accommodation for the steward of the manor. While the manor was a noble residence, this house was part of the backbone of its daily operation.

During the communist era the villa gradually fell into disrepair. That period is also part of its story.

In 2022 we bought the house, Zuzana and Juraj Sasko. Today we are devoted to its renewal, so that it can keep serving while preserving its historic character.

Inside the villa you will find historic stoves, a vaulted cellar and other details we pay attention to during the renewal.

The villa as we found it

This is how we found the villa. The photos capture its state before the renovation began.

What we are preparing next

Since 1 October 2026, Soví dom has been closed to guests. We are preparing its further renewal, which includes caring for the historic parts of the building and the adjustments needed for a comfortable stay.

The plans also include opening the historic cellar for gatherings and smaller events. For the renewal we work with architects, heritage conservation experts and craftsmen.

We plan to welcome guests again in 2027. We will announce the exact date according to the progress of the work.
