Raindrops on the window? There are plenty of indoor spots in the region to fill your day — from mining museums to mirror illusions.

Rain in Štiavnica is no reason to be sad — the city has more to offer under cover than you might expect. Combine your day according to your taste.

Morning — near the house

Tour of the manor house and Hunting Museum (approx. 1.5–2 hours, recommended) — an indoor exhibition right next to Soví dom, a 5-minute walk away.

Transport: by car to Banská Štiavnica (approx. 4 km, 10-minute drive).

Afternoon — museums in the city

Choose from: The Old Castle, The New Castle or Kammerhof with its mining and minting exhibition (each 45–120 minutes, recommended). Lunch in the city — cafes and restaurants are independent establishments; see the dining section for an overview.

After lunch, choose smaller indoor stops as you like: City Model (20–40 minutes), Julo Binder Gallery, Infinitórium with mirror illusions or Time Travel — mining history in an entertaining way.

Evening

Return to Soví dom. A peaceful evening with tea or wine — if you are interested in the historic cellar directly in the house, please arrange its use and any additional services individually.

More tips for a rainy day

Concordia Theatre if there is a performance on, and the city game Štiavnica City Game — this can also be played in light rain.
